INTRODUCTION & OBJECTIVES:
The Department of Philosophy aims at providing quality in Logic, critical thinking, ethics and traditional approach to different theories of both Indian and Western Philosophy and also to practical philosophy across semesters within three years under the CBCS system of learning adopted by the Mizoram University.
Course and Learning Outcomes:
After completion of the B.A. (Philosophy) course a student will be well equipped with -
a) ability in critical thinkings and forming aguments thereby enhancing the student logical reasoning accumen. This helps immensely in appearing for various competitive examinations such as banking, civil services etc.
b) understanding of moral concepts and principles and apply them practically in their day to day life.
c) ability to read and comprehend philosophical texts and form argument, thereby enabling to think rationally about any philosophical idoelogies relevant to both theoretical and practical aspects of it.
The curriculum also helps in organising, recognising and expressing arguments which may be interdisciplinary in nature.
